As a Lincoln and Omaha wedding photographer, capturing a celebration grounded in timeless style, clean architecture, and elevated elegance is pure joy. On October 17, 2026, Kaitlyn and Cade celebrated their marriage at Zenia in Elkhorn, NE—a venue whose modern design provided the perfect backdrop for their classic, editorial wedding day.

Every moment was thoughtfully curated, from structured tailors’ cuts and a warm neutral palette to an iconic outdoor courtyard ceremony and a glowing indoor reception. Here is a look inside Kaitlyn and Cade’s clean, sophisticated wedding day and how we captured their story.

The Vision: Modern Sophistication & Classic Elegance

When Kaitlyn and Cade shared their vision with me, they wanted a day that felt sleek, sophisticated, and utterly classic. Their style centered on clean lines, crisp contrast, and warm, neutral undertones. The bridal party wore rich espresso gowns and the groomsmen were dressed in sharp black tuxedos, anchored by refined, light neutral floral arrangements.

Zenia in Elkhorn was the ideal setting for an editorial aesthetic. Located just off West Dodge Street, Zenia features minimalist architecture, expansive windows, filtered natural light, and clean white walls. The venue’s sleek backdrop allowed every formal detail and silhouette to take center stage without distraction.

Morning Details & Sentimental Touches

The morning began in Zenia’s light-filled bridal suite, where Kaitlyn and her bridesmaids got ready in matching robes and PJs before stepping into their dresses. Before slipping into her gown, Kaitlyn shared a sweet, quiet moment with her mother, Kara.

For the flat-lay details, we leaned into a clean, editorial composition. Using loose stems provided by the florist, we styled Kaitlyn’s stationery suite, ring set, shoes, and perfume against neutral textures.

Sentimental details were woven throughout the morning. Kaitlyn’s father wore a custom tie with a photo of them together when she was a little girl printed on the inside—a touching moment captured during their private First Look. Cade also shared a special pre-ceremony reveal with his grandmother, "Granny" Mary Parker, once he was fully suited up.

First Looks & Pre-Ceremony Portraits

Kaitlyn and Cade chose to save their first look with each other for the aisle, maintaining classic tradition while building real emotional momentum throughout the afternoon. We curated structured, elegant reveals with her inner circle prior to guest arrival:

  1. Bridesmaids' First Look: Kaitlyn’s closest friends saw her fully styled bridal look for the first time in the suite.

  2. Dad’s Reveal: Brad’s emotional reaction upon seeing his daughter was a quiet highlight of the afternoon.

  3. Editorial Group Portraits: Utilizing Zenia’s clean exterior architecture and courtyard, we posed the bridal party in structured, editorial formations—framing the espresso dresses against the modern building lines.

Keeping the couple hidden prior to ceremony time kept the anticipation high for their walk down the aisle!

An Outdoor Courtyard Ceremony

At 4:00 PM, guests gathered in Zenia’s outdoor courtyard for the ceremony. The processional opened with grandparents escorted to their seats, followed by Cade taking his place at the altar alongside his parents and sisters.

When the courtyard doors opened and Kaitlyn stepped out on her father's arm, Cade’s reaction was pure emotion. Capturing Cade’s perspective from the altar alongside Kaitlyn’s aisle walk created a breathtaking sequence of genuine joy. Surrounded by minimalist floral pillars and their closest family and friends, Kaitlyn and Cade exchanged vows and made it official!

Golden Hour Couples' Portraits & "Something Blue"

Following formal family portraits, we moved into bridal party photos and romantic couples’ portraits as the sun set over Elkhorn. Zenia’s contemporary exterior provided a stunning backdrop for editorial poses, balance, and quiet moments between the newly married couple.

Kaitlyn also added a stylish touch to her traditions: several of her close friends and Theta sorority sisters wore shades of blue to represent her "something blue". We gathered the group for a crisp, high-fashion portrait during the evening.

A Chic Evening Reception & Celebration

As evening fell, Zenia’s grand sliding doors opened to reveal a reception space illuminated by warm candlelight. Tables were set with clean neutral linens, glowing votives, and elegant floral centerpieces.

Kaitlyn and Cade made a dramatic grand entrance framed by cold sparks, setting an energetic tone for the night! Key moments from the reception included:

  • Reception Table Dash: Right after dinner, Kaitlyn and Cade raced to every guest table for a fast-paced group photo with all 200+ attendees!

  • Champagne Tower & Cake Cutting: A stacked vintage champagne tower poured over multi-tiered cake displays gave the evening a timeless, black-tie touch.

  • Parent Dances & Open Floor: Emotional father-daughter and mother-son dances transitioned into a packed, high-energy dance floor that kept the celebration going all night.
