I'm just over here low key shrieking at how beautiful these photos turned out for Ally & Chris! I mean it's to be expected but dannnnnnggg they're too good!
From Ally's initial reach out, I was honestly hooked. I am such a sucker for a romantic modern elegance, which is what Ally imagined for her wedding day. From the stunning architecture and timeless views of the Nebraska State Capitol Building to the light and beautiful ambiance of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the intimate setting of Chuck's Place at the Scottish Rite Building, every moment of this spring day was filled with love, laughter and joy.
The Nebraska State Capitol Building provided a dramatic backdrop (and is one of my absolute favorite wedding day spots might I add), where Ally and Chris shared their intimate first look in the courtyard outside. The courtyard was lush, full of so much beauty and had just opened for the season. We moved upstairs for some portraits of the two of them in the corridors where natural light floods the hallways. To change it up, since it wasn't rainy and we did not have super high winds, we then adventured outside to the grand steps that lead into the second level of the Capitol Building. Can you find the photo that foreshadows that evening? I'll give you a hint you can see the reception venue from the Capitol Building.
After the bride and grooms first looks at the Capitol, we then headed to St. Michael's Catholic Church where Ally and her dad exchanged their first look, captured bridal party, photographed their family portraits at the altar and tucked Ally away before the ceremony.
Ally and Chris then exchanged their vows at St. Michael's Catholic Church, which is one of the newer churches in Lincoln, and it sure does not disappoint. St. Michael's Catholic Church has some of the most magnificent architecture and paintings in the Lincoln area with beautiful artwork on the ceiling that calls back to the Renaissance era.
Following the heartfelt ceremony, Ally and Chris had a super adorable bubble exit outside of the church. They then hopped into their getaway car to make the trek downtown to the Scottish Rite. The celebration continued at Chuck's Place, which is an intimate speakeasy-style venue where the bridal party can enjoy drinks in an intimate setting before entering the Scottish Rite Wedding Reception Venue. From my understanding it is only open to the bridal party as part of having the reception at the Scottish Rite. The ambiance was cozy and the atmosphere filled with warmth and charm. Surrounded by the soft glow of dimmed lights and the laughter of their inner cirlce, Ally and Chris (and friends) celebrated with a few drinks before entering the reception.
Before I left them for the day, we made sure to recreate a timeless moment in their getaway car (a white Jeep nonetheless) that really called back to Cinderella stepping out of her carriage to her prince charming.
May their journey be filled with so much love, laughter, and cherished moments! Cheers to the happy couple!
xoxo,
Christa (your photo bestie)
