Kaitlin & Adam’s Elegant Omaha Wedding at the Omaha Design Center
Kaitlin and Adam’s wedding day was the perfect blend of modern elegance, personal touches, and pure joy. Hosted in the heart of downtown Omaha, their celebration flowed seamlessly between three stunning locations — getting ready at the Omaha Marriott, a quick stop for portraits at the architectural gem that is Central High School, and an unforgettable reception at the Omaha Design Center.
From a heartfelt ceremony to a reception filled with laughter, dancing, and even a nod to Adam’s unique career history, this day was as memorable as it was beautiful.
The Night Before the Wedding
The story of their wedding weekend started with a twist worthy of a rom-com. The night before the big day, a severe thunderstorm ripped through Omaha. Kaitlin — in her pajamas, hair curlers in place — found herself taking cover in the basement of the Marriott with other guests while the storm passed. Instead of stress, she took it in stride, laughing through the unexpected adventure. It’s just one of many reasons Kaitlin and Adam’s wedding day felt so full of warmth and joy — they know how to embrace life’s surprises together.
Getting Ready at the Omaha Marriott
The morning of the wedding began at the Omaha Marriott, where the bridal suite buzzed with excitement. Kaitlin looked radiant in her timeless gown from True Society in Kansas City, paired with a delicate veil, jewelry from Etsy, and chic Bobbies Paris shoes. Surrounded by her closest friends and family, she enjoyed a morning of laughter, music, and a few happy tears.
Meanwhile, Adam and his groomsmen prepared for the day with a mix of jokes, quiet moments, and anticipation. The hotel’s spacious and modern atmosphere made for the perfect backdrop for capturing all those candid “getting ready” moments.
Portraits at Central High School
After getting ready, the couple made their way to Central High School for portraits. While not a typical wedding location, Central High’s exterior is a photographer’s dream — grand stairs, clean lines, and striking architecture that photographs beautifully. This stop gave Kaitlin and Adam the perfect blend of modern sophistication and urban charm, just minutes from their reception venue.
The Ceremony at Omaha Design Center
The Omaha Design Center provided the perfect space for their “I do’s.” The couple chose a simple yet elegant ceremony setup, allowing the space’s modern, industrial-chic atmosphere to shine. The floral arrangements by Valerie Schramm added a fresh, romantic touch that contrasted beautifully with the sleek backdrop.
Their ceremony was heartfelt, with personal vows that had guests alternating between laughter and tears. Officiated by their friend Matt Franco, the moment felt deeply personal — a celebration of their love story in front of the people who mattered most.
A Reception Full of Personality
After the ceremony, the Omaha Design Center transformed into a lively reception space. The couple’s décor was thoughtful and meaningful — including a life-sized penguin statue and black backdrop with their initials, a nod to Adam’s time as a zookeeper caring for penguins at the Omaha Zoo. While these details added a touch of whimsy, the overall look remained elegant and timeless thanks to Lavish Backdrops and Kaitlin’s own stationery designs.
Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Patricia’s, followed by heartfelt toasts, plenty of laughter, and a packed dance floor thanks to David Stutsman with Nova Productions. The Cake Gallery provided a stunning cake that was as delicious as it was beautiful — the perfect sweet ending to the meal.
A Love Story Rooted in Home
While Kaitlin and Adam love trying new things — from escape rooms in different states to game nights at home — they’ll be the first to say that their favorite place is simply being together. They’re adventurous in spirit but grounded in love and friendship, and their wedding day reflected that balance perfectly.
It wasn’t about flashy trends or over-the-top themes. Instead, it was about celebrating with the people they love, in spaces that felt true to them, with details that told their story. From the stormy night-before adventure to the final song of the night, it was a day full of joy, love, and unforgettable memories.
Omaha Wedding Photography
As a wedding photographer in Omaha, it’s always a treat to work with venues that offer both beauty and versatility. The Omaha Design Center is a dream for couples who want a modern, elegant atmosphere right in the heart of downtown, and pairing it with nearby portrait locations like Central High School makes for an incredible wedding gallery.
If you’re planning a wedding in Omaha and want timeless, cinematic photography that captures both the big moments and the quiet in-betweens, I’d love to help you tell your story.
