Have you checked out omaha's newest venue?
A View on West Shores is located just west of Omaha in Waterloo, NE. Since this is a very new area, you won't see any majestic trees nearby. It is tucked in by a lake next to residential homes. You guys, the sunsets are absolutely to die for!
Overall, I will say, West Shores is a pretty busy venue. Between the boats in the summer coming and going on the shores, as well as, the number of couples they marry in a day, it can feel like a lot of people are around. I've seen that they are hosting 2-3 weddings at a time since there are several reception halls. As I mentioned earlier, there are very little trees that are large enough to shade the area, which is typically what your photographer will be looking for when they're capturing your formal photos. Since this is a new development, during the mid-day sun, there are very limited number of locations at the venue that you can use for bridal party photos and family photos. So really the only two locations you have during mid-day is the inside atrium of A View and the tunnel (as pictured above).
I would suggest if there's time in your day to find an offsite location to do family, bridal party and first look photos at a nearby park, do it! The other option is to consider getting married at a different location and using them as your reception hall. However, if you fell in the venue as much as I did, there's nothing wrong with getting married there, just be willing to be extra patient as other couples may already at the same location for formal photos. Don't get me wrong though, I absolutely love this venue! The venue itself is absolutely stunning, the staff is fantastic, the venue is modern and super clean, lastly, their bridal party suites are spacious! So if you don't mind sharing the space or finding an offsite location for photos, this is a fantastic venue for you!
